We had a Drumheller of a day in Drumheller, Alberta a.k.a. Dinosaur Land. Here is what we saw.
Matt and boys are at the top of the stairs to the right of the palm tree.
Digging for fossils.
When Lincoln first saw this dinosaur, he ran away and said "Let's get out of here!!!", and then during the video, he says he wants to go home. Too cute! Bennett wasn't scared at all.
Black Beauty
Found by two teens on a fishing trip in southwestern Alberta, thisTyrannosaurus rex is considered one of the most significant specimens of its kind. Preserved in very hard, light gray sandstone, the bones and teeth of this tremendous meat-eater are shining black – stained during fossilization by minerals.
Notice Matt and the boys under the jaw.
For the photo above.
Like a piece of art, don't you think?
Near the Hoodoos.
We had heard a lot about the Hoodoos. People rant and rave about them. I was really excited to see them, and I was expecting something like Goblin Valley as seen below:
They should have called them "The THREE Hoodoos", cause that's all there were, three or so. There were a bunch of built in walkways around them (see below). Needless to say, we didn't get out of the car. Utah, how I love thee, let me count the ways.
Other than that big disappointment, we had a fantastic, beautiful fall day there.
