First things first, we went and visited Santa. Bennett is still scared. He was crying and crying when I was holding him against his will, walking toward Santa. We thought that maybe if Lincoln sat between Santa and Bennett, Bennett would be OK. Nope. Maybe if held a candy cane, he'd be OK. Nope. This is the best we could do. He is escaping... at least he doesn't look like he's crying, but he is.
Lincoln was so excited to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas. He thought after he told him that he'd get the present on the spot. He was sorely disappointed when all he walked away with from his visit with Santa was a candy cane. We had to explain to him that the elves needed some time to make his present, and that he'd have to wait until Christmas. We had to go over that concept a few times, cause he would start crying again at random. Tough being 3. Bennett was very pleased to have his candy without actually having to touch or talk to Santa.
Santa 2011... Lincoln has the same "deer in the head lights" look.
Even though we're not going to be around for Christmas this year, I still had the itch to decorate. I did a bit before we left for Thanksgiving and then found out I'll be hosting a party for those who work in the Primary with me just recently, so more of an excuse to decorate. I went to Walmart, and Zeller's (which is soon to be Target) and bought some more decor, quite a bit more. When I came home with it, Matt looked at me and said, "What more could you decorate?". I showed him. Here are our decked halls.
Found these gold birds for 50 cents each. So cute, huh?
Note Matt's fossils that he HAD to buy in Drumhellar.
Grandma's nativity.
Got these silvery ones in all different shapes for 50 cents as well. Very pleased, very pleased.
Reminds me of Christmases gone by.
Little cottage from grandma.
Speaking of pears, I pulled out the central vac to vacuum up all the fake pine needles all over the place, and Bennett kept yelling, "Look mom, I see a pear!". Here he is showing me the pear he found.
I love Christmas. Can you tell??

all so cute! good finds.
