Vancouver, BC

Matt and I have wanted to drive through BC since we moved to Calgary, and since our repatriation was upon us, we decided to check out what if BC as its license plate claimed: "Beautiful British Columbia". We were not disappointed.

June 1, Drive there.

Out the car window. Does not do it justice. There was just green mountain after green mountain. Just stunning.

June 2, False Creek and Granville Island Public Market:

Lady Bug!

A little cold.

Bennett nearly drown just after I took this shot. He was throwing a stick in and then walking in to get it. Matt had gone back to the hotel to drop Lucy off before we hit the market, and I had the three boys on my own. Eldon was strapped to my chest. I could see that Bennett was getting in too deep out of the corner of my eye and yelled to him to stop, but he didn't. I ran in with my clothes on, my camera around my neck, and the baby strapped to my chest. Luckily he was just fine.

Sleepy head.

People watching.

Magically beautiful weather out our hotel window at probably about 9 PM.

Buchardt Gardens

This woman is from China and she was OBSESSED with the kids. She took like 25 thousand shots of them and about died and went to heaven when she discovered they could count to 10 in Chinese.

Japanese Garden

We had an unfortunate incident following our lovely time at the gardens. Just prior to the garden tour, our offer on our new Houston home was accepted. After our visit, Matt was on the phone trying to have his mom send the earnest money for us. I was trying to get everyone loaded in the car. I went to put the (metal) double stroller in our topper, and it got stuck in the window that was open only three inches, thus making it difficult for me to get it in the topper so I came back down with it to get it out of the window and scratched the car. Matt came around lecturing me about how I shouldn't do stuff like that by myself and appalled that I had scratched the car. I didn't have time to tell him that it was stuck in the window, so I lifted the stroller up again, which pushed down on the glass and totally shattered the whole window. We drove the entire way home with cardboard in our window. Sigh.

Matt's shot from the ferry

After we got back to the hotel and put the kids to bed at about 11:30 PM, Matt decided to wash himself clean from the prior events of the day. As he was showering, the hot water handle popped off, and quickly filled the tub. We called the front desk, and the guy had no clue how to turn off the water to the room. It gushed and gushed, and was scalding Matt as he tried to get it back on. I was bailing the bathtub out into the sink, and we nearly flooded the place, but after we drained the entire hotel of all the hot water, Matt was able to get it back on. What the??? Were we cursed??

Slept through all the people and buckets and tools coming in and out of the room.

So did they.
