All Things Growing

Today on the way to preschool, Bennett spotted a relatively new mole on his arm and announced its presence.  Then he asked me why we have moles. I gave him my best explanation which wasn't very good but he seemed to be satisfied.  Then he asked me if moles grow.  I said that some of them do. He then gave me a puzzled look and said, "But they don't have seeds, Mom". How can I explain that?

A while back when we were eating outside at Jason's Deli, Lincoln took one of his cucumbers and threw it in the bushes. I asked him why he did that and he said cause he wanted to grow a cucumber plant. After hearing our discussion about moles and seeds, Lincoln suggested we swing by Jason's Deli to see how his cucumber plant was coming along. It was at least a month ago that he had "planted" the seeds. I had forgotten all about it but apparently he hadn't.

It is moments like this that I really cherish motherhood. No one cracks me up quite like my kids do.

  1. This made me laugh outloud! Those boys, man. Hilarious! Min is just now putting things together and makes me laugh on the daily at the things she comes up with. I'm always surprised by what she remembers, even from six months ago. Kids are the best.
