Weekend in Austin

Fall is finally here now that it is nearly November. Camping is now possible. So we went to Somerville Lake on our way to Austin this weekend.

These boys love the camp fire.

Amazing misty lake in the morning. So glad we survived the night. Someone decided to start using their prop boat at 5 AM. Not cool.

Couldn't decide which was cuter. This one or the next.

Don't mind Lucy's nose.

Found this sea creature that probably hitched a ride on the bottom of someone's boat.

Amazing, no?

We headed up to Austin early in the morning and met up with one of Matt's old mission compaions, Dave Burk and his wife Dianna. I realized later, that we never got a photo together except for the one that we had taken at the caves which was $12 so we didn't buy it. It was fun to see them, nonetheless, and the cave was amazing!

A not as pretty a view as others of Austin.

Austin Capitol Building. There was a film festival going on so this is as close as we could get.

McKinney Falls near Austin. Not exactly a big gusher right now.

Such a crazy limestone sheet.

Fun shallow water to play in above the falls.

Bennett running to the only tree on that side of the river to go potty. He didn't make it.

Looks like the moon, huh?

  1. Love the pictures of the boys by the lake. Sweet little dudes. Also, sometimes it's not worth it to run to a tree.
