Here is the birthday boy. It is hard to believe that 2 years have gone by since that Labor Day in Canada. I have sure enjoyed and savored his babyhood (mostly when he started sleeping through the night and thereafter) and toddlerhood.
Eldon's Stats:
33.25 inches (18th percentile)
25.8 lbs (22nd percentile)
...bit of a small fry.
I feel like I have already given a little schpeel on Eldon lately, but he is so fun and funny to watch. There are so many times when Matt and I look at each other and say how cute he is. He loves to be with the big boys. He has bypassed all the toddler toys we own and has cut straight to light sabers and and super heroes. Ninja Turtles are a big favorite. He loves any little guy or animal that can fit in the palm of his hand, and he selects one to sleep with every night. He loves playing Legos with the brothers and actually does a surprisingly good job of building a very simple spaceship for his "guys" to ride on. He loves singing and rocking in our chair. He often and at random will grab the sides of my face to kiss me, or make me look at what he is doing. He is pretty good at demanding attention and he holds his own with the older brothers. He has been known to take chunks of hair and is a force to be reckoned with. He has turned into a bit of a mama's boy, and will cry and cry if Matt tries to put him to sleep or when I leave the house. He says "self" on a regular basis when he is wanting to be independent and do things on his own. He will say hungry, or eat, and then will go get himself a plate and bring it over to me for it to be filled. Rough housing is his favorite. He has had an explosion of vocabulary, and it is so amazing to see what he pieces together and how his little mind works. It is often difficult to understand when he is trying to say something new. If I know the context I can usually figure it out, but lately, Bennett has become his interpreter. I will ask Eldon to repeat himself 2 or 3 times, and then sometimes, I will give up and ask Bennett, and he will say exactly what Eldon was almost saying, and Eldon will light up and say "Yeah"! Bennett prides himself in his ability to interpret Eldon-talk. Eldon is pretty good at counting to 10, but he skips 3 every time. Hopefully we can work that out before Kindergarten. He has been so much fun, and honestly a joy. I complain about motherhood sometimes, but honestly, he has really been a pleasure.
Eldon looks a lot bit like the little boy in the green shirt in this photo, don't you think?? It'll be interesting to see how similar or different Eldon and Lincoln will look in the end.
Brianne Stewart and crew helped us celebrate. We went out to Red Robin.

Blew out his candles with a little help from his friends

What a cutie face.
Everyone seemed to like the gifts!
Playing with the new bath toy.
Too busy to say much about his birthday, but he's pretty cute.
This video will give you an idea of what Eldon is like as a 2-year-old. Loves to fight and wrestle, shoot guns, walk backwards, make all sorts of sound effects, and do everything his older brothers are doing. Has a bit of the caveman talk going on, but a surprising vocabulary.

Is it weird that whenever I see you've been with your friend Brianne I get super jealous? Like, is it just because we have the same name?? I want to be the Briana that gets to hang out with you on the regular!!
