We had a blast when Grandparents Mecham came to visit us. They've been gone far too long. We determined that the last time they had stayed at our place was when Bennett was born in Korea nearly 5 years ago!! Yowzers. We've been to see them several times in between, however. We certainly had a great time with them.
Saturday, March 28th: German Festival in Tomball
Don't mind the striped whale on the left.
Hi!!
Steve-O likes himself a spot of shade.
Guess the gun was a little loud for Eldon's liking.
Matt won a huge stuffed animal for Eldon at the shooting range, but Eldon did NOT want the big one, so they gave him 3 small ones. He couldn't have been happier. He was smiling from ear to ear, but the sun was in his eyes.
Taking a spin with Grandma
At least one of them looks excited to be on the Cyclone!
Lounging by the pool. The weather really couldn't have been more perfect.
Grandpa saying something like, "Kiss my toe".
Guess Lucy was thirsty.
Bennett loved the rides.
Grandpa enjoyed Lucy's "flips" almost as much as Lucy enjoyed his splashes. She actually fell in the hot tub doing this.
Post-pool BBQ
Sunday, we did the church thing and played a bit with the kids at the school playground, then Monday, Matt took work off and went golfing in the AM with my dad, and then we went to Galveston for the afternoon/evening.
They treated us to a very nice lunch at Willie G's at Pier 21 in Galveston Bay
Bennett wouldn't get in the picture with Lincoln. Had to have his own moment.
Grandma took Eldon for a walk while we waited for our food.
Went for a stroll on "The Strand". The old, and perhaps only part of Galveston worth seeing.
I think Lincoln is concerned about his missing flip flop.
Creepy guys on The Strand. Lincoln tried to take their money, naturally.
Hit La King's Confectionary Shop for some C-A-N-D-Y!!!
So many choices, so little time!
Made a decision.
Love this architecture!
We had to eat and walk so we could hit the dolphin tour on time.
On the dolphin tour. They put on a good show for us!!
Not the best video, but OK for posterity's sake.
Made in the shade. Our little Korean tent came in handy.
The water was a little cool.
Loves his guys.
Kept a safe distance after a wave nearly washed him over.
Thinking about how much more crystal clean the water is in Guam.
Chips and candy? Yes please.
32 weeks and counting.
Tuesday, March 31: Bummed around and ate lunch with Matt
This was about the 3rd time through the book. Poor Grandpa.
Lunch at Exxon. We made a little bit of a scene. Didn't quire fit in with all the professionals there.
Wednesday, April 1: Went on a nice walk, ate lunch with Lincoln and they shipped out.
Bennett is doing really well riding his bike on his own. He probably rode at least 2 miles on our walk. This park used to be one of two country club golf courses. We saw lots of herons or perhaps cranes, and have seen white tailed deer jumping around in there just blocks from our house. It is really fantastic. Yes, the kids are still in their PJs.
Lunch at Lincoln's school. Love the buddies in the background.
So long!!!
