"Look at me!!! I'm 1 !!!"
It's hard to believe, but Bennett is one!!! He is such a little joy. I just love him and his big sparkly blues. He has grown so much in the last few months in all sorts of ways. We went to the doctor got him weighed recently and at 13 months he is 23.6 lbs (50th percentile) and he is 31" tall (75th percentile). He can stand as long as he wants but still refuses to take a step. He is saying lots of words. Let's see how many I can think of:
Uh-oh, mommy, daddy, Lincoln (didi), Lucy (see), Bennett (bebe), get down (dida), night night (says this as he curls up on his blanket when it happens to be on the floor), bread (beh, universally used for all food), cracker (cacuh), E-I-E-I-O (yai-yai-yo), thank you (day du), ball (ba), apple, bubble, people (as in Fisher Price Little People), Hi Ya!!!, Wee!!!, Hi, hello (puts his had to his ear when he says this) bye bye (buh-bye), doggie, head (heh), hat (ha), hooray, banana (nana), bite (by), go go go, yay, NO!!!, baby (bebe), etc.
The Party (a few days early)
Whenever he sees any letters, even on street signs while in the car, he'll say "E!!!! B!!!! O!!!!". He doesn't know which is which yet but he knows they are letters. Lincoln used to be able to trade a toy with him when he wanted what Bennett had, but no longer. Bennett screams, "No, no, no!!!" and Lincoln screams "SHARE!!!" or "TRADE!!!!". Bennett loves sucking his thumb, and whenever mom picks him up or he finds his blanket, the thumb goes in and he gets into snuggle mode. He's got 8 teeth. He loves to crawl up and down stairs and knows that I prefer he didn't so when he sees me coming for him, he tries to scramble up or down the stairs as fast as possible before I can snatch him, and when I do get him, he giggles and then gets really mad. His knees and feet are stained brown from crawling all the time in shorts and bare feet. He has callouses on the pinky sides of his hands also from crawling. He loves to hold two balls in his hands while crawling. He's got quite the arm and typically throws with his left hand. He copies Lincoln who says "Ahh DI!!" whenever he throws things.
Anyway, he brings lots of life and laughter to our house and loves watching and learning from his older brother. He was a surprise, but we are so grateful he came to our home when he did. We love you, Ben Ben!!!
