Portland

Mid-July, Matt had to go to Portland to watch the modules that were built in South Korea be unloaded of the big ship onto a train or barges. He was going to be gone a whole week so the kids and I decided to go with him. It was actually a lot of fun.

Celebrating Bennett's actual birthday at Residence Inn. Bennett looks very excited.

International Rose Test Garden

Lincoln's face indicates that he has OD-ed on roses.

Lincoln found a drain filled with water to throw rocks in.

Lincoln was terrified of the Orangoutang.

Goat petting

"Steel Bridge" completed in 1912.

A hobo's bike. The man had long white hair, long stringy beard and was wearing a dress.

Matt and I were astounded at the number of 20-30 year old urban campers who were begging for pot and food. You could hardly get through the crowds on the sidewalks. Get a job, people!!! And yes, that is an accordion that the guy crossing the street is playing.

We joined this crowd on the sidewalk to get a doughnut at "Voodoo Doughnut". Worth the wait.

The glittered walls at Voodoo Doughnut

Bloody guts

Loved the old architecture

Pretty sure this is a drug deal that we witnessed.

We enjoyed visiting. It's beautiful, but I think that I would rather not raise a family there. I would prefer that my children aspire higher than bongo playing on the grass in the park with all their friends and their dogs.
