Hoppy Easter

When we got home from church Easter Sunday, I got out of the car and noticed that there was one of our neighborhood jackrabbits that had burrowed a little indent next to our tree to snooze in. I was only 6 feet away from him and he didn't even bat an eye. I hurried and got Lincoln out of the car so he could see our "Easter Bunny". He was very excited and tried to get close, but every step he'd take, the bunny would take 3 in the opposite direction. Lincoln decided that he'd go get a baby carrot out of the fridge so he could make friends. It only seemed right since the Easter Bunny had brought us so many goodies.  He ended up throwing the carrot AT the bunny instead of TO the bunny. So, you can imagine how that turned out. We went inside and let him be, and after a little while, we checked outside and he was back in his little burrow again, and we were able to snap the picture below. I've been a little depressed cause there haven't been any signs of spring yet, the temperature hovering around freezing still and I hear it's in the 70's or so in Utah. But the BROWNISH Easter Bunny is a sign of spring cause in the winter, all the jackrabbits are white as can be, but turn brown for the other seasons. Spring is coming!

Grandpa and Grandma Easter Bunny sent the boys some Easter Bubbles. They were a big hit for all THREE of our kids (Lucy being our firstborn).

Post-church egg dying. "No more pictures, Mom!!! Let's get this party started!!".

A couple at church took pity on us, realizing we don't have any family around to celebrate with, so they invited us over for dinner. We made bird nest cupcakes. Thanks, Martha, for the idea. I think they turned out quite cute.

Benny thought they looked good.
