Follow your nose

Bennett has really been into smells just in this last week. I took the boys out to the park around 8 PM, and someone was having a late dinner. It smelled like fried food in the neighborhood. Bennett turned around in the stroller, and with a twinkle in his eye and lots of excitement in his voice, he said, "It smells like FRIES!". Bennett loves fries.

He also commented lately that his "bankwee" i.e. blankie was "yucky". Then he sniffed it again to make sure. That thing always stinks to me... even just after one nap after it's been washed. Smells like his saliva. I do agree, it was especially fragrant, cause he's been a little sick and drooling more than usual. I would think he would like "his" smell, but I guess not.

This morning, I put some bread in the toaster without the kids knowing, and Bennett said, "Mommy!!! I smell TOAST!!". He is disgusted at the smell of his own diapers when I'm changing them. This is very funny to me, because Lincoln has never once commented on a smell. OK, actually I remember exactly one time, but other than that, never. Maybe Lincoln takes after Matt, and Bennett after me. Matt can't smell a thing unless he sticks his nose in it.
