Arts and Crafts

I've been doing a few more arts and crafts with Lincoln lately. He's been getting up REALLY early since he's been in his big boy bed so we have a couple more hours than in the past to fill with activities while Bennett snoozes. This morning (at 6:30 AM) I dyed some peach yogurt so he could do some finger painting. He was funny.

Our friends gave us a PlayDoh kit. Lincoln is OBSESSED with it. There's a press thing with different shapes to squeeze the PlayDoh through. That's a favorite. He loves making snakes and every time he makes one he says "sssssssss" afterwards. There's a roller and cookie cutter things which he enjoys, but more than anything he loves in when I make balls for him. He will throw them around the house until they become too disfigured and then he'll run up to me and say "ball, ball, ball, ball..." until I reshape it. He tries to do it on his own but isn't quite there. Here's some of the PlayDoh fun. Even the family dog gets to play! (Gross, I know. Don't judge.)

Lincoln loves the peel his own Mandarin oranges and will be totally irate if I do it. Now I've just got to get him to pick up the peel afterward.

The Preforming Arts:

There's nobody more funny or entertaining than Lincoln in Bennett's eyes.
(Note: Please excuse the terrible commentary and videography)

Bonus pics:

I drew this for Matt for Valentine's Day. Our two little loves. I didn't finish it until the 18th or so. Kinda rusty. I haven't sat down to draw anything since before I left on my mission in 2005, and it shows. The likeness isn't great, but whatever. It's the thought that counts, right?

  1. your boys are way too cute. i just want to chomp on bennett's cheeks. We have been trying to get emmy to laugh and i often wonder if she would do it for an older sibling. I guess I will never know! nice artwork!

  2. I love your drawing. You should make this a valentines tradition--what a fun collection of drawings that would be. :)

  3. Remember how you sketched an awesome picture of your boys and then were like, "yeah, it's nothing". Or something to that effect. Talented people like you make me jealous. I'll try to contain my jealousy though. When are you headed back to the states? America misses you.
